Though this page is affiliated with Mama Hope, the opinions expressed are mine!
I just want to say that I know my life here in Kenya is a lot more comfy than what most of my friends, colleagues and students here have gone through.
I’m not complaining about anything or making fun of anyone in these posts . I’m not in the heart of darkness. I don’t believe Africa is the “dark continent” or some crazy wasteland full of hawkers.
Indeed, while it has issues like anywhere else in the world (though many ARE vastly greater), its full of life, warmth and community the likes of which I’ve found nowhere else and dearly miss when I leave.
I have nothing but love for my friends and family here. Though I poke fun now and again, I hope it’s mainly at myself, my own sad expectations and the predicaments they get me into.
All in all, I don’t want to be any place but where I am (with the exclusion of being with my honey).
Please let me know if I ever lose my mind…
Bryce

As a huge fan of Heart of Darkness I found your one last thing disclaimer/explanation/entry fantastic!
Ha. Glad you liked it, Nura. Though I haveto admit, I was a fan of Apocalypse Now before I ever heard of Heart of Darkness. Now I have my nifty Heart of Darkness / The Secret Sharer compilation. Fancy.
