I’m an experimental designer exploring the intersections of language, memory, and visual form. My work often shifts between type and image, drawing on bilingual experiences and poetic fragments to reflect complex identities and nuanced emotions. I also work as a surface pattern designer, where rhythm, texture, and storytelling come together in different ways. Deeply influenced by Persian literature, I’m drawn to what gets lost in translation, and what quietly endures. My poster "The Bird May Die" received Best Poster Design awards in both 2017 and 2021, a recognition that continues to affirm my commitment to visual storytelling.
The Only Sound Remains
Mixed Media, 24" x 36 ", 2025

Only the Sound Remains borrows its title from a poem by renowned and pioneering Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad, whose work has been a lasting source of inspiration for me. This piece draws specifically from her final two collections, Another Birth and Let’s Believe in the Beginning of the Cold Season, incorporating fragments of her poetry in both Persian and English. As an international student, I often find myself navigating a space between languages and places. This poster reflects that experience through torn layers, faded text, and ghosted visuals that speak to the emotional landscape of displacement, memory, and fragmented identity. The materials and composition mirror the way meaning can be lost in translation, but also how something essential still remains. Persian literature, and especially Farrokhzad’s voice, continues to shape how I connect to my culture and express myself across borders. Hearing a voice in your mother tongue always draws your attention. In this work, that voice survives not through clarity or completeness, but through its resonance, through sound that stays, even when everything else feels distant.
